Motion Of Vehicles In Air

16 Sep

Hot air balloon and airship use Archimedes’ principle to enable them floating in the air.The hot air in the balloon generated by a source of heat is less dense than the air outside it.The weight of air displaced by the large balloon is heavier than the weight of the balloon. This causes the balloon to rise until the weight of air displaced by it is equal to the weight of the balloon itself thus make it floats in the air.

The large volume of the airship balloon filled with helium also displaces a large volume of air which is heavier than the weight of the airship hence the upthrust of of the air on the airship pushes the airship up. The airship has an engine which operates a propeller for driving the airship forward. It has a rudder for guiding the direction.
