There is no spark plug used in 4 stroke diesel engine. A Fuel injector is used to inject diesel into the combustion chamber. During induction stroke only air goes into the chamber. The air is compressed and become very hot in the compression stroke. The hot compressed air inside the chamber then will ignites the fuel to produce power stroke. In a 4 stroke petrol engine, spark plug is used to ignite petrol to produce power stroke.
